Get started!
In 2010, I was in rough shape. I was working at two different jobs as a therapist. Forced to sit through meetings that 90% of the content had nothing to do with me, at one job and cramming in up to 10 clients a day at the other just so I could try to make ends meet. I still was $10,000 in credit card debit and trying to convince the government to give me a break for a couple of months on my student loans. I was never home before 7pm and often wouldn’t see my young kids. I started relying more heavily on alcohol, my health got worse and I felt resigned to my fate.

Then something miraculous happened. One of the places I was working closed down. How is that miraculous? It certainly didn’t feel like it at the time. But it FORCED me to try another way, and my life has never been the same.

I WANT TO HELP YOU AVOID ALL OF THIS

You don’t need to go through what I did. Let me show you another way. Discover your TRUE worth and value. Because mental health matters. YOUR mental health matters. You can’t be there, REALLY be there for your clients and your loved ones if you don’t take care of yourself physically, spiritually, emotionally, and let’s not forget, financially.

You are worth so much more than you realize. Once you start   to value yourself there is a chain reaction that spills over into   the rest of your life, not just your business. Yes, you deserve   no less than a six-figure income, but you also deserve to be   happier, more fulfilled, and have more time to take care of   yourself.

                           THE WORLD NEEDS YOU!

Yes, YOU! More than ever before there is a need for quality   mental health services and no one else is the world has   exactly what you have to offer. During the pandemic, how did   it feel to know that you were an essential worker? It’s not a   stretch to say that the world depends on you. But too many   therapists are trying to do to much, trying to heal everyone   and reaching beyond themselves until they can’t do it   anymore. This is why it is so   important to find your true calling. Not only for yourself, but   for you family, and for the world as a whole.

I used to feel like there were not enough clients to go around, that I was in competition with other therapists, that I had to somehow distinguish myself from everyone else with the latest training or more letters after my name. I know now that none of this is true. YOU are your best asset. You already have what you need. The research proves it. THE most curative factor in therapy is the therapeutic relationship. How are you going to connect to your clients and do your best work if you are burned out, underpaid, and not working with your ideal client? Think about the way that you feel when you look at the clock in session and realize that only 7 minutes have gone by. The sinking feeling that you are going to somehow have to find a way to get through another 43 minutes. How do you feel? Trapped? Bored? Uncomfortable? Like a fraud even? Now think about when you are looking at the clock and realizing that, not only is this the first time you’ve looked at it this session, but you accidentally went over by 5 minutes. You know that it’s time, to go but there is so much more to cover! How do you feel then when that ideal client leaves your office? What kind of work have you done? You are energized instead of drained. You feel competent and confident not fake and despondent. THIS is what you deserve, this is what your clients deserve ALL the time. Don’t waste your time feeling like you are doing what you have to do, do what you were BORN to do.

LET'S DO THIS!

I’m Stephen Quinlan. I've spent more than 20 years as a therapist. I started out my career in New York City where I worked in the East Harlem housing projects for 5 years. It was an extremely difficult environment.  There were shootings, poverty, drugs and unimaginable suffering all around.  But I learned a lot about myself as a therapist there.  I learned that I was good at connecting with children and teenagers. I learned that I was good at thinking outside of the box on how to help people. Perhaps most importantly though, I learned that there was only so much trauma I could expose myself to and not be profoundly affected by it.  As my new wife and I moved to greener pastures in New Hampshire in 2005, I found myself hoping that a change in scenery and the kind of clients that I would be working with would help me to avoid some of those nagging feelings that I had been having around my career choice. How would this be sustainable? Could I really continue to do this kind of intense work for the rest of my life? What if I made some kind of a mistake getting into this field?
Today I work with clients that I love, my job as a therapist takes about 15 to 20 hours a week, and my income is six figures every year. I get to spend my free time taking care of myself and working on side projects such as coaching other therapists, my podcast and writing books.  Trust me, none of this is impossible.  I'm not a better therapist than you. I don't have some fancy certification or amazing work ethic. What I do have is hard-won knowledge of how to streamline your business and make it everything that you wanted to be.  My one regret is that I didn't figure this out for myself earlier. If I could have had somebody help me then with the radical transition that has happened in my life, I could have enjoyed so many more years of living this way.  You can DO this even though you feel like maybe you can't. Or maybe you feel that kind of thing is just for someone else. Maybe you are just scared. I know how it feels and I would have thought the same thing when I was in that same position many years ago making $33,000 a year in my tiny office that I called "the closet." Start today and watch the rest of the dominos start to fall in place. Once you start going down this path the momentum becomes unstoppable. You've got this. You can do this.  It all starts here.

I WANT IN!
